Grupo Faustino triumphs in the 1st Gastro & CÍA. Awards organised by La Razón newspaper

The Gastro & Cía. Awards price-giving ceremony took place on Wednesday, 14 December at the main offices of La Razón. Francisco Marhuenda, the newspaper´s editor in chief, welcomed the guests. The event was hosted by former television presenter and expert nutritionist Patricia Pérez. The awards were given by Carlos Chaguaceda, Director General of Tourism of the Madrid Region.
In this first edition of the La Razón Gastro & Cía. Awards the jury panel (consisting of editor in chief Francisco Marhuenda; assistant editor Pedro Narváez, sales manager Andrés Navarro and food journalist, Tatiana Ferrandis) granted the following awards:
- Career path: Lucio Blázquez de Casa Lucio (Madrid)
- Chef of the Year: Óscar Velasco de Santceloni (Madrid)
- Sommelier of the Year: María José Huertas of restaurante La Terraza del Casino (Madrid)
- Restaurant of the Year: Aponiente with Ángel León (El Puerto de Santamaría, Cádiz)
- Food space: Restaurante Amazónico, owned by Sandro Silva and Marta Seco of Grupo El Paraguas (Madrid)
- Red Rioja Wine: Bodegas Campillo (Laguardia, Álava)
- Wine tourism: Bodegas Portia (Gumiel de Izán, Burgos)
- Mixology: Pernod Ricard
- Jabugo Cured Ham: Dompal
- Carbonell Gold Stopper Special prize: Ikea
Carmen Martinez Zabala, president of Grupo Faustino, collected the Red Rioja Wine award on behalf of Bodegas Campillo and Gerardo Alonso, Grupo Faustino Marketing Manager, collected the Wine Tourism award given to Bodegas Portia.
