Bodegas Campillo proudly accepts this award for their 2018 vintage of Campillo 57

This prestigious accolade was received following a competition in a blind tasting where the jury is composed exclusively of Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers, and buyers who award the best wines with Bronze to Gold medals.

This award adds to those received by this wine since its launch in the market in 2020 when it was recognized as the Best Wine at the Alimentos de España event convened by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in 2021.

Each vintage released for sale has received the highest ratings from experts, such as 97 points and a Gold Medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards, Gold Rioja Masters at The Drinks Business, 94 points from James Suckling, Gold Medal at Mundus Vini, and more.

CAMPILLO 57 is part of the MARTÍNEZ ZABALA GALLERY, a collection of excellent wines from our main wineries, Bodegas Faustino, Bodegas Campillo, and Bodegas Portia. Limited editions of numbered bottles, 10,715 bottles in this case, born in our vineyards.

CAMPILLO 57 comes from the Tempranillo grapes harvested from the best small plots of the “El Monte” estate in Laguardia, with Tempranillo plantations over 60 years old and located at over 700 meters altitude, and from Graciano from a small plot in Oyón, Rioja Alavesa.

Unique varieties that grow in privileged locations and inspire a creation rooted in excellence. These are wines of exclusive selection and aging, innovative, attending to the smallest detail.

Campillo 57 2018 features a deep cherry red color. On the nose, it exhibits intriguing complexity, with notes of black fruit and balsamic touches provided by the barrel. On the palate, the wine shows remarkable structure and exceptional balance with very soft tannins. Notes of red berries, balsamic herbs, cherry, fresh mint, and exotic spices emerge. The finish is very long with nuances of fruits and spices.

Campillo 57 is a fitting tribute to conclude any fine occasion. As such, it was conceived as a tribute in 1957 to the birth of the first member of the 4th generation of the Martínez Zabala Family. Four generations of a family inspired by the vineyards, proud of their lineage and their legacy.

A great wine that honors the work, determination, and courage of the fourth generation of the Martínez Zabala Family. Made at Bodegas Campillo, inaugurated in 1990 in Laguardia, a pioneer of wine tourism in Rioja, it was designed and realized with a unique architectural project as a tribute to wine.
