Legado Bodegas Faustino awarded at the Architizer A+ Awards

The project designed in collaboration with Foster & Partners was awarded at the Architizer A+ Awards, the most influential international competition in the architectural sector.

Legado Bodegas Faustino has been awarded at the 13th edition of the Architizer A+ Awards, the most prestigious competition in the world of architecture. The first wine tourism project Planeta 1.0 and Energy Plus designed in collaboration with Foster & Partners has been recognized by the jury in the Hospitality: Bars and Wineries category, in an edition that featured more than 4,000 proposals from over 80 countries, evaluated both by an international expert jury and the global public vote.

In this edition, the winning projects not only address architectural challenges, but also respond to the social, environmental, and cultural needs of their territories, highlighting projects with strong local roots.

Located in Oyón, Rioja Alavesa, Legado Bodegas Faustino is a benchmark of sustainability. A “Planeta 1.0” building whose carbon emissions are absorbed by its green earth-covered roof. In addition, it is Energy Plus: it features photovoltaic panels capable of generating more energy than it consumes. The surplus is distributed to existing buildings within the Bodegas Faustino complex, making the entire winery energy self-sufficient.

Legado Bodegas Faustino is a wine tourism project focused on visitor experience, offering the most complete and exclusive range of experiences around the world of wine, vineyards, nature, architecture, culture, and sustainability in a unique proposal that connects all spaces with the surrounding vineyards. In this space designed in collaboration with Foster & Partners, a wide range of wine and gastronomic tourism is offered, including a wine bar open to the public without prior reservation.
