Legado Bodegas Faustino stands out among the best architectural projects of 2025 at the Dezeen Awards

Bodegas Faustino, one of the most important benchmarks in the global wine sector, has been included in the longlist of the prestigious Dezeen Awards 2025 in the Hospitality Project category for its innovative Legado Bodegas Faustino project, designed in collaboration with the renowned architectural firm Foster + Partners.

Legado Bodegas Faustino is an enotourism project focused on the visitor experience, offering in this new universe the most complete and exclusive set of experiences around the world of wine, the vineyard, nature, culture, gastronomy, and sustainability, in a unique proposal that connects all spaces with the vineyards.

Dezeen, the UK platform of international reference in the world of contemporary design and architecture, highlighted this project within the prestigious list of 262 buildings worldwide, selected from over 4,300 proposals from 89 countries. Among the nominated projects are renowned architectural studios such as Foster + Partners, Snøhetta, David Chipperfield, Open Architecture and White Arkitekter.

Located in Oyón, Rioja Alavesa, Legado Bodegas Faustino has become a benchmark for sustainability. The Planeta 1.0 building stands out for its innovative design, in which carbon emissions are absorbed by its vegetated roof. Moreover, it is “energy plus”, since it features photovoltaic panels that generate more energy than they consume. The surplus energy is supplied to the existing buildings within the Bodegas Faustino complex, making the entire winery energy self-sufficient.

The new enotourism center of Bodegas Faustino has been conceived as a flexible, multidisciplinary space capable of hosting a wide variety of activities. The nomination in the “Hospitality Project” category recognizes this commitment, as the center includes indoor and outdoor spaces specially designed for corporate events, congresses and special meetings, as well as exclusive activities such as vertical tastings or concerts.

This innovative approach positions Bodegas Faustino as an international benchmark in the field of enotourism, placing Oyón on a new level of cultural and wine tourism. In addition, the center is open to the public and offers a wine bar where visitors can enjoy a unique experience, with or without prior reservation. The gastronomic offering, developed in collaboration with Mahercooks, complements the proposal with carefully selected dishes, consolidating Legado Bodegas Faustino as an accessible and comprehensive destination for wine and gastronomy lovers.
